Making a Difference in Taylor Schools

Rocket Readers is a program designed by More-Life to provide tailored literacy enhancement sessions between students and retired seniors in schools in Howard County of Indiana. The sessions are incorporated into the weekly curriculum under the supervision of the teacher and a proctor from More-Life.

Taylor Elementary is our pilot school. Taylor utilizes the 5Ps for Fluency (Perfection, Pace, Phrasing, Punctuation, and Performance) to take 2nd grade students from reading decodable passages to reading grade level passages. Rocket Readers will be incorporated into their current program to offer enhancement through intergenerational reading enhancement sessions.

More-Life is partnering with Taylor Elementary in Howard County, Indiana, for the 2026-2027 school year. We are excited to make a positive impact on the lives of students and local retired seniors.

Through virtual platforms, our program provides students and teachers structured valuable support while restoring purpose and connections for seniors.
